- News from LHC:
- Special Collimation Working Group Meeting on TCTP design on Monday, January 23, 2012 16:00-16:30 in room 874-01-11 . The question to discuss is whether there is a solution for the leak on BPM cables, since in 2 out of 7 samples the outgassing range was measured in the range of 1E-7mbar.l/s, clearly not acceptable for installation (see table below, from Gregory Cattenoz, TE-VSC).
- ECR - Class I (2011-10-12): https://edms.cern.ch/file/1153295/1.0/LHC-LJ-EC-0025-10-00.pdf => Modification IR2 to solve the ALICE ZDC TCTVB interference problem: It is proposed to modify IR2 on both sides in order to get the same collimation layout as in IR1/IR5 to solve the interference problem between the ALICE ZDC and TCTVB during beam operation. The modification consists in moving the recombination chamber by 1.36 m towards IP2 to install a TCTVA between the recombination chamber and D2, in shortening the VCDGA chamber by 1.36 m and finally removing the TCTVB. In the LSS2R, the TCTVB slot will be taken by the existing TCLIA collimator.
- ECLOUD'12 workshop will take place from 5 to 8 June 2012, at La Biodola (Isola d'Elba) in Italy.
- Today at 10:00 there is the talk by the DG in the Main Auditorium.

- Info from FritzC about the Curie temperature of some ferrites:
- 4S60 => Only ~ 100 deg C.
- TT2-111 => Nearly 400 deg C (said 375 in the doc.).
- Reminder: PSB and PS impedance models to be developed (Action1 for the impedance team).

- Reminder on the new LTSLS (Long Term Saved Leave Scheme) scheme which will be built on the existing annual / saved leave scheme as follows => 3 leave accounts:
- Annual leave (max 30 days on 1 October after leave book closing) => Can be taken at any time.
- STSLS (max 22 days on 1 October after leave book closing) => Can be taken at any time.
- LTSLS (max 440 days on 1 October after leave book closing) => Can be taken at the end of the career only.
- New tune PU for the PS (see slides from Marek Gasior) => To be followed up by Impedance Team (Action 3).
- 2012 IEFC Work Shop will be held on 7-9 March 2012 in the CERN Council Chamber.
